Ice Landscape

Engraved glass vase with a landscape motif, which was commonly used in traditional engravings, but the author decided to take this theme as a challenge and to process this traditional theme in a new and original way. First, she designed her own simple, modern vase shape. The whole composition and the cool colour tones of the vase are inspired by photographs of melting glaciers and modern landscape paintings (Feininger, Richter). The artist has gradually etched the vase with subtle shading in dark blue and light blue powder and polished the glacier motif to achieve a a wet and melting effect.
