Bench Mycelium

A beech frame forms the supporting structure for a seat made of sawdust bonded with the mycelium of the Ganoderma L. The bench minimizes the impact on the environment in terms of the entire life cycle of the product. The material used is characterized by biodegradability and natural origin. The design is the result of diploma thesis dealing with the possibilities of using mycelium in the field of furniture. The bench meets the requirements of a product for Eco-design and reflects current needs for handling materials, introducing alternative technologies and procedures into production process.
