In his diploma thesis, Jan Šimsa examines the fear of emptiness in a broader context and comes up with interesting associations and knowledge. "As an artist, I often face the compulsive tendency to fill in the format. Many artists, whether he paints, takes photos, creates graphics or works with writing, face this struggle with fulfilling desire. But not only in art we encounter the fear of emptiness… While reflecting on my own creation I came across the phenomenon of horror vacui (fear of emptiness) and decided to explore this concept more."
