Atlas

Atlas is a concept of an universal electric locomotive designed for operation on the upcoming high speed rail network - both for personal and cargo transport. Because of that, optimizing the aerodynamics was crucial to the design. The front bodywork is steeply raked with a streamlined cockpit, for a perfect balance between frontal aerodynamic drag, interior cabin space and retaining laminar flow behind the locomotive, ensured by two extendable spoilers. Design of a custom chassis and technical components is also part of the project.
